cell adhesion protein; may play a important role in endothelial cell biology through control of the cohesion and organization of the intercellular junctions.
ohne Gefährdungspotential
Inactivation of VE-cadherin triggered a significant loss of malignant traits (proliferation, adhesion, invasion and transendothelial migration) in melanoma and breast cancer cells. Knocking down VE-cadherin suppressed lung colonization capacity of melanoma or breast cancer cells inoculated in mice.
Die ursächliche Beteiligung an der Entstehung von Tumoren ist nicht gezeigt.
